Never Skip Breakfast and Lose Weight

Im the type of person that never skips breakfast. My dad used to tell me that I have to eat a lot and to never skip breakfast so I can be a "big ass asian." Well he didn't say "big ass asian", but he did say so I could be big and tall. So that has stuck with me.

I used to eat cereal every morning until I realized that cereal isn't really an ideal breakfast. For one thing, cereal has a lot of unnecessary carbs, a lot sugar, and I used to add whatever type of milk I had, which can be fatty. I would also become very hungry after about 45 minutes which isn't good. This was due to the lack of protein.

Our bodies must be fueled with food every 2 to 4 hours. If we skip a meal or do not eat anything when our stomachs grumble, then our bodies go into starvation mode and it stores what we ate in our previous meal into our fat storage compartment in our bodies.

We must also realize that when we sleep, as humans, we tend sleep 6 to 9 hours to which we do not eat anything. During that time, we do not really need any calories because our bodies are resting, but right when we wake up, we must fuel it. People who wake up and skip breakfast or eat something light tend to be more sluggish throughout the day and will gain weight.

So I started to do some research and found that some carbs and a lot of protein is ideal when first waking up. So with my breakfast, I dice up some yellow onions, mushrooms, and green onions, and cook all these ingredients in a pan then I add some olive oil, and then I get about 6 to 9 egg whites, and basically scramble it. If I want a little more protein, I would also add some chicken. To give me that pick me up in the morning, I microwave some oatmeal and add some cinnamon. The simple carb is a carb that your body can break down very easily, and it will give you energy throughout the day.

I basically eat this meal every morning, and for some reason I am never tired of it. I get enough protein and carbs to last me for my next meal. Remember your suppose to eat every 2 to 3 hours throughout the day, and when your sleeping, your not eating. Thats about 6 to 9 hours of not eating so you must eat breakfast in the morning to restore it back to normal.

Your body begins to use the reserved fat from the food you ate the night before when you skip breakfast. When your body hasn't been eating for a long period then it uses this fat, and you gain weight.

Remember to eat a healthy breakfast, and you will lose weight and feel better the rest of the day.

The pancakes I make are with whey protein powder, eggwhites and oats. Delicious and perfect. For me, I basically stay away from sugary things

Gregorry,

You make some valid points, but I have to disagree with you that pancakes are a healthy breakfast. And consuming slurpees and energy drinks like Gatorade are NOT good for energy. They spike your sugar levels and increase the hormone insulin, which promotes fat storing in the body. After the initial high from the sugar rush, the body will actually feel less energized.

I agree with all of Joseph's advice. Oats are a superfood, and slow digesting carbs, so they don't spike insulin. Also non-starchy carbs like whole wheat bread, sweet potatos, brown rice, etc are the best to eat. Combine with vegetables and lean proteins, and you'll be losing weight in no time!

Try chicken thighs, and noodles. This is also the perfect athletic breakfast. This breakfast contains carbs, protein, and fats. It is also cheap to prepare. You can boil a bunch of chicken thihgs in an hour on the weekend or at night before bed. Noodeles take 5 mins to cook from boiling point. Fats can also be used for energy by your body. Adding a simple sugar like peaches, or mixed fruit would give you a enrgy bost right away. While the carbs, fats, and protein sustain that energy.

Cetain combinations of food and drinks can also act like coffe in a way, and energize you. Try drinking a slurupee and milk toghether. This will give you energy. Try eating 2 apples, and some eggs , this will give you energy. Try drinking gatoriade, and eat a couple of bagels and eggs after. You will have amazing energy.

Sometimes the foods do not have to be mixed. You can by a quart of milk at the store for around 3.00. If you drink a quart of milk every morning you will have energy.

You could also eat lots of bread, and eggs. Bread and eggs or Toast and Eggs can even make a good breakfast. Nuts and pancakes is also a good thing for breakfast.
